New MOM Requirement: Measles Immunity Requirements for MDWs from 1 September 2025

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced a new requirement starting 1 September 2025:

If your household has a child below 7 years old, your migrant domestic worker (MDW) must have immunity against measles.

What does this mean for employers?

You’ll need to declare your helper’s immunity status during:

• New Work Permit issuance

• Work Permit renewal

Your helper is considered immune if she has either:

• Completed 2 doses of the MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), OR

• A medical record that confirms immunity

You are exempt from this requirement if all children under 7 in your household are already fully vaccinated against measles.

Why is this important?

Measles is a highly contagious disease. This new measure aims to protect young children and immunocompromised family members from potential exposure.

What should you do now?

• Check your MDW’s vaccination records early

• Arrange for MMR vaccination if required

• Inform us if you need assistance verifying or arranging vaccinations
